Ash Lamp
Ash Lamp
Handmade by skilled craftspeople, the Ash Lamp is a toasted version of our Casita Lamp. Available with a green or blonde shade, it brings a touch of artistry and warmth to any room.
This handcrafted table lamps ceramic base, and dried palm, hand woven lampshade, are the work of two Mexican artists: Eligio Zárate Blanco and award-winning Belén Perez Garcia. Belén has found a way to take her cultural craft tradition and apply that knowledge with respect for the past and openness to new forms and opportunities. We are so inspired by her, and are thrilled to work with her and support the survival of indigenous craft.

PROCESS + PARTNERS
Belén Perez Garcia has won awards for her fine palm weaving. She weaves in a group of local women who harvest and process palm leaves at different stages of maturity to produce different colored shades.
Eligio Zárate Blanco is a celebrated potter from Santa María Aztompa whose craft has been passed down through generations of family. The red clay they use comes from local mountains, and is fired in a gas kiln followed by a traditional wood-fired kiln. The toasted effect of these pieces is achieved in the wood-fired kiln where they are surrounded by smouldering sawdust, giving each a unique blackened pattern.
